Megan Gould: Bio/Discography

Megan Gould

Megan Gould (violin) is one of NYC’s most versatile performers of Middle Eastern, Greek and popular music. She received her violin performance degree from Indiana University, and Master’s Degree in Ethnomusicology (with a concentration on the Middle East) from the University of London. She has performed rock music with John Mellencamp, Sean Lennon and Donovan, experimental music with Wayne Horvitz, Jenny Scheinman and Eyvind Kang, and recorded with Ani DiFranco, Lou Reed, Philip Glass, and the Mysteries of Life, among others. She is a founding member of the NoorSaaz ensemble, the music director of the Smadar (Levi) band, and a regular performer with the MOTH storytellers. Her work has appeared on many and varied film soundtracks, commercials, and sound recordings.
